  • Notes: Made in four sections – invisibly joined. Stain probably from red wine now 200 years old. (From position on cravat where gathered for wear). Dating from portrait in Courtauld Gallery of Captain Charles John Sealy by Tilly Kettle, dated 1773 showing simple panel cravats in wear – lightly gathered.
