2433. Eastern European bobbin lace flounce

  • Notes: Probably used as a stiffened and upstanding collar at an earlier period. Note that the design restrained. Basic design was more scalloped, amended for lesser scallops with infills made separately in different thread. Reverse Potten Kant which would have been seen by viewer when collar upstanding. One larger infill plus two smaller infills per scallop. Eastern European including Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Russia and Austria. Very similar designs had spread from Italy (Aquila).
